I just feel so cute. That is honestly where this whole vlog started. Hair done, workout in, lip gloss on, and me walking out of the gym like, “Okay, new year, new me for real this time.”
But instead of just saying it on January 1st, I am actually trying to back it up with how I live. Moving my body, eating like I care about my future self, keeping up with my checkups, and letting God stretch me in ways that are not always comfortable.
If you are in that same space where you want to get your life together for real, this is for you.
Taking Your Health Seriously As A Young Adult
I started this day on the stair master for 20 minutes. It was cute, but also terrible. My lungs were fighting for their lives. Still, it felt good to choose my body first and not my phone.
The older I get, the more I realize that “health” is not just a vibe. It is appointments, labs, questions, and uncomfortable conversations with people in white coats. And honestly, I used to avoid all of that.
Finding a doctor that takes your insurance, is near you, has openings this month, and matches your preferences is so annoying that a lot of us just never go. That is why I use Zocdoc. I can filter for what I need, read real reviews, and book something the same day or that week. That little barrier of “I will call later” disappears when you can click the time you want and it is booked.
If you have been putting off your dentist, gyn appointment, or primary care checkup, this is your gentle reminder: stop waiting until something is wrong. Future you will be very grateful.
Grocery Shopping For Gains On A Budget
After the gym, I went straight to Aldi looking very gym girl aesthetic, but with a mission. One thing about me, I am not trying to work out hard and then live off vibes in the kitchen. If you want muscle growth, energy, and real progress, your groceries have to match the effort.
I came in with:
- A list of meals at the top
- Ingredients for each meal underneath
Writing it out that way keeps me from grabbing five random snacks and forgetting the actual stuff I need to cook.
Some things from the cart:
- Strawberries and raspberries for breakfast
- Salad stuff with a dressing that had simple ingredients
- Sourdough or a solid bread for avocado toast
- High protein deli meat for omelets
- Chicken sausage and turkey bacon that actually have decent macros
- Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and protein granola for snacks
Aldi produce can be hit or miss, so I pick through and grab what looks fresh. I also had a little moment with the avocados. Instead of fighting with unripe ones, I grabbed the single serving avocado cups. They are portioned, convenient, and perfect for toast and taco bowls.
If you are trying to eat better on a budget:
- Start with your meals, not the aisles
- Focus on protein first, then build around it
- Pick 1 or 2 fun extras, not 20
You do not need a Pinterest fridge to fuel your body well.
Being A Creator And Actually Acting Professional
Later in the day, I headed to Starbucks. Not for a drink this time, but for WiFi and a seat so I could edit and submit sponsorship content.
Brand deals are a blessing, but they also come with deadlines. A lot of influencers drag their feet and turn things in late. I do not want that to be my reputation. My managers are pretty relaxed, which is nice, but it can also feed my procrastination if I let it.
So I am working on:
- Filming what I need on time
- Editing early instead of the night before
- Sending drafts before the brand has to chase me
It feels good to treat my work like real work. I pray for more opportunities, so I am trying to show God I can handle what I already have.
Yoga, Opinions, And Letting Your Body Release Stuff
The next day I went to a Kundalini yoga class. When I posted a short about yoga, a few people commented that it is demonic. I hear that a lot, and I understand that some people were taught that. For me, I do not see it that way.
Here is what yoga is to me:
- Stretching and moving my body
- Focusing on my breath
- Letting my body release tension, memories, and emotions
I have cried in certain hip stretches before because our bodies really can hold on to experiences. And when you finally open those areas up, things come up with it.
If yoga goes against your beliefs, do not do it. I respect that. For me, it is a tool that helps my mental health, my nervous system, and my body. I talk to God before, during, and after. I do not feel like I am calling in evil by touching my toes.
We can disagree on that and still be cool.
Trusting God When Life Does Not Match Your Vision Board
This past year has been a valley season for me. I had big goals and plans for 2025 and a lot of them did not happen. Money, consistency, routines, creativity, all of it felt off.
The wild part is, I did not realize how much I was fighting God while asking Him to guide me. I kept trying to control every outcome, rush every process, and force my life to look like what I had in my head.
Looking back, I can see:
- I was resisting my reality instead of accepting where I was
- I was trying to get out of the hard season instead of learning from it
- My lack of trust in God was leaking into my relationships
It was never about me saying “I do not trust God.” It was about how I was acting. The constant control, the fear, the tension, the need to fix everything myself.
I am starting to see this year as a shedding year. Old habits, old control issues, old beliefs. The kind of year that feels uncomfortable in the moment but sets you up for a real reset.
Trust is cute when life is going great. The real test is: do you still believe God is for you when your plans fall apart?
Car Podcasts, Lego Date Night, And Letting Go Of Perfection
One of my favorite parts of this vlog is something small but meaningful. I set up my podcast gear in my car in a Walmart parking lot and recorded there.
Is it the crisp, aesthetic studio I want long term? No. Does it work for right now so I can show up for you all and for myself? Yes.
Same thing with my long distance Lego date night with my man. We grabbed matching small sets, sat on the phone, and built them together. It is simple, it is corny in the best way, and it is something that fills my cup in this season.
All of this ties into a big lesson I am learning:
I do not have to be perfect. I can be “messy consistent.” The lighting in the car might be weird. The timing on my deadlines might be tight. The grocery list might not be aesthetic. But I am trying. I am taking care of my body, my work, my faith, and my relationships with what I have.
If you are reading this, I hope you give yourself permission to do the same. Show up a little imperfect, keep choosing your health, talk to God honestly, and build a life that feels like you, piece by piece.
