Our Commitment to Accessibility

Alyssa Howard Enterprises, LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility and usability of our platform and content for all users.

We believe that everyone should be able to access and enjoy our content, regardless of ability, and we are dedicated to providing an inclusive experience.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, which are internationally recognized guidelines for web accessibility.

WCAG 2.1 Level AA Compliance Status: Ongoing Effort

We are actively working toward full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. Some areas of our platform may not yet be fully compliant, and we are committed to addressing accessibility issues as they are identified.

Accessibility Features

Our platform currently includes the following accessibility features:

1. Keyboard Navigation

  • All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Space keys)
  • Logical tab order throughout the platform
  • Skip-to-content links for easy navigation

2. Screen Reader Compatibility

  • Semantic HTML5 markup for proper content structure
  • ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) labels on interactive components
  • Alt text for images (where applicable)
  • Descriptive link text (avoiding "click here" or "read more")

3. Visual Accessibility

  • Sufficient color contrast ratios (WCAG AA: 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Text resizable up to 200% without loss of functionality
  • Readable typography with clear font sizes and line spacing
  • Color is not the only means of conveying information

4. Multimedia Accessibility

  • Videos: YouTube's automatic captions (we are working on adding custom captions for better accuracy)
  • Podcasts: Full transcripts provided for all episodes
  • Images: Descriptive alt text for all meaningful images

5. Forms and Interactive Elements

  • Clear form labels and instructions
  • Error messages that are descriptive and actionable
  • Sufficient time to complete actions (no auto-timeouts without warning)

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of our platform may not be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

✅ Recently Resolved (January 2025)

  • Color Contrast: All pink text on white backgrounds has been updated with a darker accessible variant (#c0427a) that meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards (4.88:1 contrast ratio). Dark mode continues to use our original brand color with excellent contrast (13.03:1).
  • Third-Party Content: Embedded YouTube videos and social media content rely on third-party accessibility features, which we cannot fully control
  • PDF Documents: Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible (we are working to remediate these)
  • User-Generated Content: Comments and user-submitted content may not always meet accessibility standards
  • Complex Interactions: Some advanced features may require additional accessibility improvements

We are actively working to address these limitations and welcome feedback on how we can improve.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

Our platform is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen Readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack
  • Screen Magnification: ZoomText, Windows Magnifier, macOS Zoom
  • Voice Control: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control (macOS/iOS)
  • Browser Accessibility Tools: Built-in browser zoom, high-contrast mode

Recommended Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge (latest versions)
